Stunning perception of their trajectory! The arc of the moral universe can't redeem us in a world without morals. I'm pinning my hopes (stepping out on faith) that the GOP can realize that if they're brave enough to take personal hits, together they have more power than maga.
I am actually hoping for Trump to save us. π΅βπ«π€¦π« Seriously. Hear me out ...
Ultimately, outside of his own family, everyone who gets too close to Trump becomes classified as a problem at some point. Sessions and Barr and Christie and, hell, most of his original first term Cabinet, ended up reminding him of his many insecurities. When that happens, he summarily evicts his closest team members from his circle, like the nasty landlord that he was raised to be.
In coming after those people, Trump wonβt be doing anything we agree with nor will he be acting for the good of others or to save the nation. He is, by nature, a catalyst for destruction and his own circle is not immune from his toxicity. That may be what saves us. With Trump, there is an historical pattern of internal dissension stirring up around him.
I am not a religious person, but I say all the best prayers to have today's most dangerous people meet a vicious demise by the tiny hands of the one person in government right now who possesses both the will and capacity to crush them and (unintentionally) save us.
I have to have faith that Trump will Trump very soon.
May all of those who are close to him, particularly those who are most destructive to humanity and democracy, fly too close to the sun quickly and meet with the most rapid and everlasting of crashes, with his full emotionally stunted fury, and suffer the cruelest demise, before they do too much harm.
That is my mid-February Christmas wish for America and this planet.
